Personality:
Dhia is unmistakably a very bitter individual, always ready to spit the painful truth straight into a person’s face, regardless if it’s a friend or foe. Most of the time this woman speaks her mind first, often permeating her words with her anger, and thinks about consequences of those words later. Because of this, many cannot understand her fully and never bother to, often labeling her as mean or downright evil and leaving it at that.
The fact of the matter is that Dhia is quite used to being alone, and by pushing people away from herself she is essentially protecting both herself and everyone around. Her whole philosophy of life comes down to protecting those around her from herself (her berserking rage, to be exact) and from what may be following her. More often than not any associating with her can easily bring her enemies down upon themselves, and the kalus is perfectly aware of this. Years and years full of foolish mistakes and suffering from them led her to this aggressive attitude towards others.
In spite of all her efforts, some people managed to become close friends with her. They are the only ones who were able to realize the burden of daily frustration and pain she has to bear, and they alone realized that Dhia is in essence a noble soul, willing to sacrifice but everything for sake of others (even complete strangers). She can easily relate to those who suffer and those seeking redemption, exaggerating in compassion to the point where she can’t kill even her worst enemy if he’s pleading for mercy.
She’s a fearless kalus that demands respect for her efforts. There are times when she is so convinced in a course of action that any kind of persuasion or forcing orders upon her comes off as a sheer insult to her. Though she’s quite stubborn, it does not mean she is incapable of changing her mind. Her closest friends know that it takes just a little patience and just the right words to make her see the error in her thinking. All in all, she is desperately trying to do the right thing at all times, even when it’s not clear what the right path is.
Different people have varying opinions of the kalus, but one thing is for certain: Dhia leaves no indifference behind herself.

Strengths:
(- Fast and agile combatant -)Ever since her first steps, Dhia knew how to move nimbly. One muscle used here, another there and she easily becomes a whirlwind of fists and feet that’s hard to hit or dodge. That makes her an exceptional hand-to-hand fighter more than her strength does, which only comes into spotlight when she’s berserking.
(- Pain tolerant -)Every day Dhia has to endure stress that more often than not brings her great pain. After almost four decades living under those conditions she has developed tolerance for pain not many have the mental endurance to develop. Granted, it does not mean she can ignore a broken leg or anything of a similar nature.
(- Exceptional hearing -)She was born with it. The fine-tuned sense of air vibrations had saved her life countless a times, and even to this date its helping her defend herself against sneaky attackers.
(- Stealthy about it -)Thanks to her particular skin tone, she can hide in a forested area without much trouble. She even knows a few tricks to help her hide, though nothing overly professional. None of it can help her in populated areas, where she sticks out like a sore thumb.
(- Kalus natural strengths -)The following items are common to a kalus, and apply to Dhia as well:
The natural, curved claws on kalus’ feet allow them the ability to run or walk without difficulty over ice.
They are able to survive in very frigid and inhospitable regions.
Abilities:
(- Berserking -)This ability is somewhat an extension of her pain tolerance. While in utter anguish, mostly caused by her forearm wound, Dhia triggers a peculiar shift of energy within herself. A good amount of it flocks to her nerves and dampens the incoming pain. However, it does not completely kill the feedback from her muscles, but instead filters it, which allows Dhia to move and keep track of her position. With time, this protective energy wastes away, draining the kalus of energy (which is why she needs at least a little energy to go berserk).
Anger keeps this peculiar filtering shield in place, and subconsciously the kalus understands that in order to save herself from the pain, she needs to get rid of its cause (which is quite often another person). Unfortunately, this need is put to an overdrive (and fueled by the very same energy that is protecting her), which causes Dhia to fall into a blood-thirsty rage, killing everything and anything living in sensing range. Dhia will attack anything and everything living, but there is a pattern. She doesn’t just randomly attack; subconsciously, she searches for the most irritating target, which often is the loudest person in the vicinity, or the one that moves the most. Primarily she picks her target based on sounds, as her tentative hearing can be easily irritated, and sometimes Mysterial sensing, which makes lingering in her close vicinity a very dangerous move. Her sight takes a back-seat in this state, serving only to spot movement, but little else in recognizing anything. This is why she tends to attack even her closest friends; she doesn’t recognize them for what they are. Opposed to that, she often cannot even spot people who are hiding silently in a corner, even if she’s looking right at them.
With the incoming pain gone, the kalus is free to use her muscles to the point of overdrive. This is what causes her to excel at strength, speed and agility, often hurting herself (by twisting an ankle or breaking something, etc) but not feeling the pain. The kalus becomes extremely elusive and dangerous (some even dubbed her unstoppable). However, what she easily gains in brute force, she lacks in terms of tactic. When this state is triggered, the kalus seems to forget how to do battle with weapons or other objects. Dhia tends to use unwise head-on attacks in place of her normal ones. Although she cannot use weapons, she does resort heavily to using her claws and teeth to no end, just like a blood-thirsty animal.
The kalus will berserk until what is causing the pain is gone, or until she has depleted most of her energy. At that point she will fall out of berserking, and will be close to passing out. The ability usually leaves her disoriented and very mentally unstable for a while.
(- The power of giving -)This ability is also based on Dhia’s energy, but it is not on a subconscious level like her berserking. At will she can give away her energy through skin contact (and minor distances of a few millimeter, but it takes more effort that way). The Mysterial given is just pure energy that acts as, literally, nothing more but an additional resource to the receiver. Although this gift usually helps a person heal quicker, it can easily help the wrong process. For example, instead of assisting a sick person, it helps the virus he or she is fighting.
When Dhia puts a little more effort into it this energy acquires a special kind of behavior that has a much better effect and is more precise, allowing Dhia to bring people back from the brink of death. This way she can easily hear cuts, burns and cracked limbs. Truly broken bones pose a problem while regrowing lost limbs, though technically possible, requires too much energy.
Dhia can do more than just heal wounds. She can, for example, knock out foes, but it is not as simple as it seems. For anything more elaborate than fixing physical wounds Dhia has to have extensive knowledge of the person’s Mysterial that she can acquire only through a lot of observation. It is kind of like saying that in order to help a person with a mental problem you need to know their history and the way he/she ‘ticks’; it simply comes with years of knowing an individual.
Sadly, even this Mysterial so carefully given, can go out of control and do more harm than good and Dhia can’t heal everything; she cannot heal most magical curses (especially the ones that are in the list of curses in Aztersil’s library on the website), or diseases/poisoning that’s too serious. In the latter case she can slow the malevolent process down, and give a person the fighting chance they need to survive. (Please note that all of this essentially depends upon the other character’s owner. I will not force miracle healing upon anyone.)
With the help of her energy Dhia can assist magical processes in one degree or another. She cannot alter the way some magical item or spell works, but can easily amplify its ability.
And lastly, Dhia can also heal herself. This part of her ability is subconscious, and cannot do more but help her recover from injuries a slightly bit faster (nothing spectacular like healing a broken bone within a week or anything). Because of this her scars are fainter than they should be, and they eventually even disappear after a decent amount of years.
(- Bio and magical sensing -)Dhia can sense flow of Mysterial around herself (in the air, another person or item), in a radius of three feet. The deal is simple, one living being has its energy field (aura or whatever you want to call it), and Dhia has hers. Once those two come in contact (at about 6ft distance) Dhia starts feeling a disruption going through her field. The closer she is to the other creature the better she is at sensing stuff like illnesses and state of mind and body. However, in order to sense anything more than just general state, she needs to personally know the individuals inner flow of Mysterial.
If the other living being is say a mage, with some shield cast or additional aura etcetera, then Dhia can sense it from a further distance, but how many details she can get depends on an individual case.
Weaknesses:
(- Mysterial drain -)Every member of Dhia’s family has some kind of Mysterial-related ability. These abilities vary greatly, from the ability to spit fire to simple camouflage with magic, and anything in between. Dhia’s ability is quite simple: any skin contact with a living being (a being that runs on Mysterial in one degree or another) starts to drain the Mysterial within her, weakening the kalus. In turn it can make the receiver of this energy stronger. Within a few minutes, such a contact can weaken Dhia to the point of collapsing, and can even kill her. Furthermore, prolonged exposure to a Mysterial-drained state causes permanent loss of memory (starting from the latest memories, and going backwards in time).
Now, the amulet she tends to wear all the time helps her solve this draining issue. While it is around her neck it acts as a net, holding her energy is place and giving her more control over it which she wouldn’t have otherwise.
(- Insomnia -)Because of her good hearing, and her capability to sense nearby energy (more on that later) Dhia can hardly get any sleep at all. It is not unordinary for Dhia to stay up a few days, and then collapse into a near comatosed state.
(- Wounded arm -)The wound on her right forearm is a result of an interrupted ritual performed by one of Dhia’s enemies. During that ritual her arm was used as a connection to her nerves that would allow modifications to her to take place. Luckily, the ritual was never completed, but the connection is still there.
Therefore, any contact even slightly stronger than a touch brings her pain. Anything more serious, that draws blood, would make the wound bleed up to twice longer than normal, and it would instantly bring enough pain to make Dhia go berserk.
Stress alone may bring her pain, which often makes her whole right arm shake and twitch.
(- Short fuse -)Dhia cannot handle many things. Whether it is a merchant too loud or pushy, or just a drunkard looking for trouble, Dhia can become violent pretty quickly under any kind of stress. If somebody is bothering her she wouldn’t hesitate letting the person (or persons) know, and quite loudly too. Diplomacy is certainly not her forte, as the kalus has tact only in rarest of situations.
(- No touching -)Dhia doesn’t want anyone near her. A person staying too close to her risks getting hit, or at least yelled at. A simple touch can make her jump out of her skin and do enough stupid things to burn down a building.
(- Weakness towards fire -)Like all of her kind, Dhia cannot handle hot weather for prolonged periods of time. In addition, her resistance towards fire is lacking.
Beliefs: None.
Class/Skill: Dex-berserker, Mysterial manipulator
Weapons: A simple shortsword hangs on her belt in a leather sheath, and she has a hunting knife usually strapped onto her leg just beneath one of her knees.
Culture:
Dhia comes from an esteemed
Sharzak family that allied itself with a few other families (back in the old days) and formed an organization dubbed The Mysterial Hand. At first, this organization had noble intentions of self-improvement quite similar to their kingdom, serving as a support to mages who are too far from Sharaden.
Sadly, once a few generations had passed the original intent changed drastically. Nowadays members of the Mysterial Hand are considered to be stuck-up madmen (and women). Rarely who dares to face them due to their immense skill with Mysterial and trigger-happy attitude.
Although Dhia never had any personal contact with the organization (so far) and isn’t fully aware of her heritage, her last name marks her clearly both as a Sharzen, as well as a member of the Mysterial Hand.
