((Using a character that I hope to use in the actual forums. Still have some character development to work thru but should be good for now.))
"Halt!! I said HALT!!" The voices of the frustrated guards echoed against the dungeon walls. The clawed feet of the Dresell soldiers scratched around frantically as they hunted the many dark, gloomy corridors of the Rozette noblemans' cellar-turned-slave-pin. A single cell door stood open, its occupant no where to be found.
"How did he get out?" The guards had come full circle now as they stood in front of the open cell. The estate itself was huge, but the masters 'pets' were ever so lovingly caged below, crammed in with the finely aged wine. "The Lord will scalp us if he learns we let one of his pets escape."
"He couldn't have gotten far... How do you loose a Therux?" The second guard turned to point his torch down the next row of freshly polished wine bottles. "Especially one as pathetic as this."
"Now you're just going and making us look worse saying that." The first guard growled, ruffling his feathers with resentment. "This one was found wandering the by Vesp nests buzzing about as if he was one, remember? He probably turned into a bug and few away." The Dresells eyed each other with disdain before turning to scout in opposite directions.
After a few moments of silence, the Therux dropped from the ceiling of the cell, onto the cold stone floor. The jungle beast moved without noise as it blindly made its way thru the darkness towards the small amount of light that faintly illuminated from the edges of the cellar door. The prisoner took one last quick look around before reaching upward to dig its clawed fingers into the wood hatch door.
"Wait..!" A voice hissed from the darkness. "Dont leave me here." begged the voice of an old man. A pale hand reached out of a nearby cell, grasping towards the fuzzy outline of the Therux. The Therux let its arms drop, slowly bring them around itself. Its long tail swept across the floor and curled around its enormous feet.
"I.. I.. Im sorry." The Therux whispered into the darkness. Its voice was soft, delicate, and down right terrified. "I.. I cant."
"Pleaasee..." The hand gestured for the timid escapee to come closer. "Im dying." The caged man groaned loudly. Muffled voices and foot steps echoed from the other side of the dungeon, letting them know the guards had heard them.
"Shhhh" The Therux hugged itself tighter, its ears swiveled quickly in attempt to pinpoint the guards location. "I'll... I'll come back for you.."
"Nooooo.... Take me with yoooou" The voice grew slowly louder and more demanding. "Please!!"
"There he is!!" The guard shouted as the light of the torches rounded the corner. The Therux flinched as the light brightened the tinny passage, its eyes not used to any amount of light after having spent days below surface. "Grab him!!" The guards lunged forward, charging their target as fast as they could. The Therux crouched, and like a spring, shot up and thru the cellar door. The high pitched scream of a maid rang in the Therux's ears as it rocketed up from the floor and into the exquisite manor.
"Excuse me!" the Therux yelped as it scrambled to get to its feet and as far away from the guards as possible.
